Whilst we have the luxury of beautiful beaches and promising waves on our doorstep, the natural beauty of Imsouane offers an unforgettable experience.
Depending on the conditions, our incredible surf team here at Sunshine love to show guests the wonders of the Western coast of Morocco. Whilst we have the luxury of beautiful beaches and promising waves on our doorstep, the natural beauty of Imsouane offers an unforgettable landscape and surf conditions that are hard to find anywhere else. Whether you’re looking to join at the first peak with pro short boarders, practice your technique with our instructors, or have fun and learn in the white waves, Imsouane has it all. So be ready to pack your bags at 4.00AM, arrive before sunrise, and take in the early morning views of the Atlantic from your board.
At Sunshine, we want as many of our guests as possible to experience the popular costal village, so when conditions are looking promising, we prepare our guests the night before for an early rise and a hearty breakfast, ready to leave the camp for around 5:00AM. Whether you want to sleep on the way or watch the sun slowly rise, the team arrive at the beach surrounded by other early-starters by 6:30AM, and start to prepare for a beautiful surf.
For years, Imsouane has been deeply loved by its local surfers for its unique landscape that allows for extended waves and long rides of up to 700m on good days. As word of mouth and dreamy videos have spread, everyone has wanted a piece of this beautiful bay. Each season has become busier, so at Sunshine, we like to get there early for a quiet start. And with a budding hotel and cafe selection on the shore, you can always enjoy an after-surf beverage and snack with exceptional views of the mountains, the sea and other surfers.
After the surf, we eat our lunch and maybe grab some mint tea or coffee at one of the cafes on the shore, before heading back. Depending on everyone’s energy levels, which are usually hyped after a morning of satisfying waves, we’ll drive over to the sand dunes where we grab an old board and use it to ‘surf’ down. The more the better with sand surfing, so for some speed and fun it’s great to get as many on the board as you can, before one of our instructors help you out with a little push.
After that, we take a ride back to the camp where more tea and Moroccan biscuits and pastries are ready on the terrace. Chill and relax after a day many of our guests call their best.
